Researchers in Southampton are opening up a new drug trial that potentially could lead to a prevention of sight loss for those with Stargardt’s disease. This trial is the first ever of its kind in the UK with the hospital being a part of a £5 million EU research funded project! There is some criteria to fit in order to partake in the study. The trial will take place over 14 months, participants will have to visit the hospital at least 11 times and have a documented first appearance of Stargardt’s disease before the age of 45.
