Following our earlier announcement of Retina International’s participation at the 2026 ARVO Annual Meeting, we are delighted to confirm that our colleague, Dr Kate Fankun Cao, has been selected for an oral paper presentation.

Kate will present “Association between visual acuity and cognitive performance: Evidence from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA)” on May 5, 2026, within the session on Functional assessment and outcomes for low vision.
This selection recognises the strength of her work and its contribution to understanding how changes in visual acuity relate to cognitive health in ageing populations.
Details:
May 5, 2026
Session Number: 339
Session Title: Functional assessment and outcomes for low vision
Presentation Start/End Time: 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM
Room: 403
Dr Nabin Paudel’s poster on “Association Between Vision and Mental Health: Findings from Wave 3 of TILDA” has also been selected for display:

Together, these studies highlight the broader impact of vision loss on cognitive and mental well-being, areas central to the lived experience of our community. Strengthening the evidence base in these domains supports more holistic care pathways, informed policy, and a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by people living with retinal conditions.
We look forward to attending ARVO and sharing the findings from our work!
