Retina International is pleased to share that our research, “Association Between Vision and Mental Health: Findings from Wave 3 of The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA),” has been published in the ARVO 2026 Annual Meeting Abstract Issue following its presentation at this year’s Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting.
The study explores the relationship between visual impairment and mental health, drawing on data from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA). The findings contribute to the growing body of evidence demonstrating the broader impact of vision loss on emotional wellbeing and quality of life.
As Retina International continues to strengthen the role of patient evidence in research and policy, studies such as this help improve understanding of the wider consequences of visual impairment and reinforce the importance of integrating patient-centred perspectives into healthcare and research.
