Association Between Vision and Mental Health: Findings from Wave 3 of The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA)
Association Between Vision and Mental Health: Findings from Wave 3 of The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA).
This study examined whether vision problems are linked to anxiety and depression in Irish adults aged 50 and over. Using data from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA), researchers assessed participants’ eyesight through vision tests and self-reported vision, alongside questionnaires measuring symptoms of anxiety and depression.
The researchers used statistical methods to account for factors such as age, income, lifestyle and general health to better understand the relationship between vision and mental health.
