Industry partnerships and collaboration

Partner with Retina International to advance research, bring patient perspectives into decision-making and help shape the future of retinal healthcare.

Partner With Us

Retina International (RI) is a global alliance of patient-led organisations representing people living with retinal conditions and their families. We work across the patient community, research, healthcare, industry and policy to ensure that scientific progress reflects the needs, priorities and lived experiences of those affected.

Through collaboration with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other life-sciences organisations, RI aims to strengthen patient involvement, generate meaningful evidence and support progress towards better outcomes and more equitable access to innovation.

Why Work with Retina International?

A Trusted Global Network

Connect with an established international alliance of patient-led organisations, representing the perspectives and experiences of retinal communities across more than 40 countries. RI brings together patient organisations, researchers, clinicians, industry and policymakers to support collaboration across borders and sectors.

High-Quality, Evidence-Based Research

RI contributes to scientifically rigorous, peer-reviewed research exploring the impact of retinal conditions, patient experiences, quality of life, unmet needs and treatment priorities. Our research helps generate evidence that can inform research and development, healthcare policy and decision-making.

Meaningful Patient Involvement

People living with retinal conditions have valuable expertise that can help shape research and innovation. RI works to ensure that patient priorities and lived experiences inform research questions, study design, meaningful outcomes and discussions about emerging therapies.

Collaboration That Drives Change

By connecting industry with patient organisations, researchers, healthcare professionals and policymakers, RI helps create opportunities to share knowledge, address unmet needs and advance a more patient-centred approach to retinal health.

Data

Patient Data and Insights

Understanding the lived experience of retinal conditions is essential to developing research and healthcare approaches that respond to real-world needs. RI's research explores the impact of retinal conditions on individuals, families and society, including areas such as:
Socioeconomic impact

The financial, employment and societal costs associated with retinal conditions.

Patient experience and quality of life

How retinal conditions affect independence, wellbeing, daily activities and participation in society.

Patient preferences and treatment priorities

The outcomes, needs and expectations that matter to people living with retinal conditions.

Caregiver impact:

The practical, emotional and economic effects of caring for someone with a retinal condition.

Access and unmet needs

Experiences of diagnosis, genetic testing, healthcare and emerging therapies.

Partnerships

Collaborative Research

These research areas can help inform discussions about clinical development, patient-relevant outcomes, healthcare planning and the wider value of innovation.

RI welcomes opportunities to explore collaborative research and evidence-generation initiatives that align with its mission and are guided by transparency, scientific integrity and meaningful patient involvement.

Research Collaboration
RI believes that innovation is most meaningful when it reflects the needs and priorities of the people it aims to benefit. We work with stakeholders across the retinal community to encourage patient-centred research and strengthen collaboration between scientific and patient communities.
Potential areas of collaboration include:
Collaborative Research Projects

Work together on research addressing the impact of retinal conditions, unmet needs, patient preferences and the outcomes that matter to people living with these conditions.

Patient Involvement in Research and Development

Explore opportunities to involve patient representatives and patient-led organisations in research discussions and activities, helping ensure that lived experience informs research priorities and development.

Knowledge Exchange and Awareness

Support opportunities to share research findings, improve understanding of retinal conditions and encourage dialogue between patient communities, researchers, healthcare professionals and industry.

All collaborations are considered in line with RI’s mission, values and commitment to representing the interests of people affected by retinal conditions.

Our Commitment to Responsible Partnership

RI values partnerships built on shared objectives, transparency, integrity and respect for the independence of the patient community.

We welcome collaboration with organisations that share our commitment to advancing retinal research, supporting meaningful patient involvement and improving outcomes for people affected by retinal conditions.

Partnerships should align with RI’s mission and uphold the interests of the people and communities we represent.
