In a powerful display of solidarity and compassion, several municipalities across Spain have joined hands with the “Luces que inspiran: España Ilumina la Retina” initiative by Retina International’s member organisation, the Federation of Associations of Hereditary Retinal Dystrophies of Spain (FARPE). Their collective mission: to raise awareness about retinal diseases and provide unwavering support to those who battle them.
This year, FARPE’s campaign is laser-focused on something that can make all the difference in the world – early and accurate diagnosis. They are on a mission to champion visual health and the well-being of individuals grappling with Hereditary Retinal Dystrophies (HRD). We at RI also believe in the power of prevention, early detection, and the right treatment to change lives.
Under the banner of “Luces que inspiran: España Ilumina la Retina,” several municipalities have pledged their commitment. They will light up their iconic buildings in the symbolic colors of blue and green on Retina Day, coming up on September 24th. This visual spectacle aims to do more than just catch the eye; it’s a heartfelt call to action, a plea for awareness, and a reminder of the challenges faced by those living with HRD.
