World Retina Day 2021: Theme Announcement and Social Media Assets
World Retina Day is taking place on September 25th, 2021. This year, Retina International is highlighting the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the inclusion and wellbeing of its global patient community, and focusing on how the community can “Build Back Better.”
The consequences of COVID-19 have greatly impacted the lives of those affected by retinal dystrophies through its effects on:
- safe mobility and accessible inclusion in society and the workforce;
- migration of services online, furthering the digital divide;
- delays in access to healthcare and support services; and
- the progress of research and innovation which supports the development of potential treatments for their conditions.
