PRO RETINA Germany are delighted to welcome you to the 15th International Research Colloquium on Retinal Degeneration to be held virtually on April 9th, 2021. The meeting concept follows a condensed format with short talks of junior and senior scientists and traditionally starts with eight oral presentations from junior researchers that were selected from submitted abstracts. Thematically, we will focus on precision medicine and innovative model systems for translation research, two areas that have received unprecedented attention in recent years. Prof. Krzysztof Palczewski from the University of California, Irvine, will give the keynote lecture and introduce the idea of systems pharmacology for acquired and inherited retinal diseases.
In this year’s two plenary sessions, seven distinguished experts will share their state-of-the-art research results and future perspectives. The colleagues will specifically cover new developments in genetic and pharmacological medicine and highlight technical advances to better model and understand retinal injury and disease. As we all know the online format has its limitations and will not allow a personal contact and broad scientific exchange we all enjoy during our usual highly esteemed “Swingin’ poster session”. Still, let’s have an unforgettable one-day meeting.
